Police are searching for those behind the murder of a 52-year-old eThekwini Metro Police manager.
Innocent Chamane, who served as a Support Services Manager, was gunned down outside his home near Inanda Dam - a short distance from Hillcrest last night.
Police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says they are still looking for the suspects.
"At about 7.45pm, an off-duty policeman was shot by unknown suspects, in front of his house. He sustained gunshot wounds to his head and body. The motive for the killing is still unknown," she said.
The eThekwini Municipality has sent their condolences to Chamane's family.
