Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The search for a mother and her four-year-old child who were swept away during floods in Crossmoor in Chatsworth on Friday night has entered a fifth day.
They were among four people who had been crossing the river during the heavy rains on their way back from a church service.
Police search teams recovered the bodies of the other two people on Saturday morning.
Spokesperson Shooz Magudulela says the search will continue despite difficult conditions.
"They have a lot of challenges of which they are trying to work under those difficulties. There are a lot of wires that are moving all over, the place is very dirty. The rocks are moving, and the valley is falling. However, the search continues," he said.
Meanwhile, eThekwini Mayor James Nxumalo is today visiting flood-stricken areas of the city.
