Scores gather ahead of KZN mayor's court appearance
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
Crowds have gathered outside the Umzimkhulu Magistrate’s Court in southern KwaZulu-Natal thismorning - ahead of the mayor of the Harry Gwala District Municipality, Mluleki Ndobe’s second appearance in the dock.

Ndobe was arrested last Saturday - alongside three others - and charged in connection with the 2017 murder of former ANC Youth League secretary general - Sindiso Magaqa.
He’s expected to apply for bail today.
There is a crowd of a few hundred people gathered outside the courthouse at the moment and we have spotted some local ANC leaders amongst that crowd.
There's a strong security presence with armoured vehicles as well as police men and women from the surrounding local stations and from the RTI - out in their numbers.
An area directly outside the courthouse has been cordoned off and access is being strictly monitored.
