Schools reopen in protest-prone Folweni
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
Schooling is underway in the Folweni area south of Durban following violent community protests there.

Some schools were closed for two months as groups protested over the ANC candidates in the running to be councillors in the upcoming local government elections.
Residents are calling for the removal of Mthokozisi Xulu from the list saying he's not from the area.

They want Sisulu Xumayo to represent them instead.
The community yesterday allowed pupils and teachers to go to school after traditional leaders intervened at a community meeting on Monday.
Chairperson of the Provincial House of Traditional Leaders Phathisizwe Chiliza says schools must be opened.
"What we said as Amakhosi is that the ANC must sit down and rectify that because we believe that there are processes and policies that are followed by the ANC itself.
"So they must go to those processes and follow those processes so that the problem is solved. Children must go to school, schools must be opened without fear," he said.
