School remains closed after DCC fire

A senior pastor at the Durban Christian Centre in Mayville is hopeful schooling will resume soon at the Durban Christian Centre School.

Pastor John Torrens say the school situated on the same premises as the Jesus Dome was not affected by the fire there on Tuesday night.

''I know that there is no electricity and water at this moment in time, but as soon as we get clearance from the authorities then we will make sure that there's a proper supply of water and electricity because they are writing exams right now so we want to try get them back on schedule as quickly as possible,'' he said.
eThekwini officials including deputy mayor Nomvuzo Shabalala visited the church yesterday to express their sympathy and show support to its members.
