#ScarvesinSolidarity: World rallies to support victims, Muslim community

Online users, from across the globe, have paid tribute to the victims of last week's deadly shooting in New Zealand, with the #ScarvesinSolidarity campaign.

49 people were shot dead when an Australian-born 28-year-old man opened fire at two ChristChurch mosques. 

Dozens were injured in the shooting rampage, twelve of whom are still in a critical condition in hospital. 

Hundreds of mourners, have this week gathered at memorials and vigils to remember the victims. 

While social media users have adorned scarves to stand in solidarity with the Muslim community. 

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern today led a two-minute session of silence during a gathering at one of mosques where the attack occurred. 

The country vowed to tighten gun laws following the attack. The murder-accused suspect is expected to face a raft of further charges.
