The
Department of Education in KZN says tender scammers are trying to use its
schools' nutrition programme to target people.

It says it's seen several messages on social media, encouraging those who've made applications for the programme to submit their personal details to certain individuals.
Spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi says the fraudsters use the information in illegal activities.

He says applications for the programme closed in mid-December and were processed electronically.
"KZN Department of Education distances itself from voice notes making rounds on social media platforms indicating that those who have applied must submit names through certain individuals. We are saying this is a scam, don't be fooled by scammers."
