SCA to hear Zuma’s medical parole appeal in August
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The Supreme Court of
Appeal (SCA) will hear former president Jacob Zuma’s appeal against the
revoking of his medical parole in August.
The matter will be heard on 15 August.
Both Zuma and the Department of Correctional Services have filed an appeal against a ruling which declared the former president's release from jail was unlawful.
Zuma was released on medical parole last year by former Department of Correctional Services commissioner Arthur Fraser.

He had only served three months of his 15 month prison sentence.
Zuma was jailed in July 2021 after the Constitutional Court ruling found him to have been in contempt of court for failing to account to the commission of inquiry into state capture.
His imprisonment led to widespread public violence and looting in KZN and Gauteng.
