SCA dismisses Zuma's Downer appeal with costs
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Jacob Zuma's hopes to have state prosecutor Billy Downer recused from his corruption case have been dashed again, this time by the Supreme Court of Appeal.

The former president's bid seeking Downer's removal was dismissed in October by the Pietermaritzburg High Court.
Later, Judge Piet Koen denied his application for leave to appeal the decision, saying he believed it lacked any prospects of success.
Zuma approached the SCA with four petitions, including the high court's refusal of the appeal and the refusal of the application to introduce new evidence.
The SCA today dismissed the petitions with costs, saying they have no reasonable prospects of success.

Zuma has accused Advocate Billy Downer of bias and leaking confidential information to journalists but the State's denied the allegations.
The former president is due to go on trial in a few days.
Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority, Mthunzi Mhaga, says they welcome the judgment.
"We will now focus on ensuring that the trial resumes on the 11th of April and we are ready to proceed with the matter."
