The Save South Africa movement says the campaign to rid the country of corruption does not only focus on President Jacob Zuma, but also on councillors and public servants.
The group has launched its ‘Minimum Demands’ document.
Save SA founder Sipho Pityana says they want a review of the legislation around party political funding.
“We only want local, moral investors to fund political parties in the country. But at the root of our demands is the removal of President Jacob Zuma, who is leading a state capture campaign. This is the first and necessary step to save the country.”
Pityana says there is a need for transparent leadership in order to restore the credibility of the criminal justice system.
The Treatment Action Campaign’s Anele Yawa says South Africans deserve to know where political parties get their money.
“South Africa needs to know where political parties get their funding, because some of that money has blood stains.”
The group says it will be marching on the day of the National Assembly’s motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma.
