SASSA warns of new scam targeting grant recipients

The SA Social Security Agency in KZN has warned grant
recipients of a scam involving bogus officials.

In a statement, SASSA says it's been informed that social grant beneficiaries in KZN are being approached by bogus officials at their homes.
It's understood that the officials advise beneficiaries that their SASSA cards need to be changed.

The agency says they have not embarked on any campaign that involves changing beneficiaries' cards.
Officials also say that SASSA officials will not call or visit a grant recipient and require their personal information or their SASSA cards and pin codes.
The agency says if beneficiaries are being approached by anyone, to report it directly to the police.
