SASSA payment delays following glitch
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
The Social Security Agency says it's working to resolve the grant payment issues it's experiencing.
Thousands of pensioners and beneficiaries of disability grants have been unable to collect their money Monday- after some stood in queues since the early hours of the this morning.
SASSA's KZN spokesperson, Sandy Godlwana says a system failure has caused the payment glitch.
She says some recipients can use the post office to collect their grants in the meantime.
"SASSA has identified the glitch. Funds, however, will be released to beneficiaries this afternoon. We are hoping that from 3 o'clock the money will be available and can be accessed even from tomorrow,"
"SASSA profusely apologies to all beneficiaries who were affected, we are making a commitment and a confirmation to say that the money will be available."
