SASSA in KZN suspends thousands of grants
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
The South African Social Security Agency has suspended over 38 000 grants in KZN.

It says this is due to beneficiaries not visiting its branches to have their grants reviewed.
The agency says it had notified beneficiaries that this process was necessary in order to assess whether they still qualify, among other things.
SASSA KZN spokesperson Sandy Godlwana says over 78 000 grants had to be reviewed.
"Some of these clients are now getting more than what was registered in our system. Most of them who has reapplied we have picked up that they are now earning more than what was captured in our system.
"This is a way of us cleaning our system and ensuring that we pay the right clients.
"We are calling on client grants who have been suspended and who feel that they still qualify to come through will all their documentations."
