SASSA expands COVID-19 grant payment options
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) says from today, beneficiaries of the COVID-19 grant can receive their grants at the Post Office or via a bank account of their choice.
SASSA says it's making it easier for recipients to access their relief money.
The agency's Sandy Godlwana says there was a need for the new methods of payment.
"Challenges reported included long queues and the fact that funds run out at times. Beneficiaries end up having to be sent home empty-handed.

"It's important for beneficiaries to understand that they should not go to Post Office before they have received an SMS notification that states that funds are available."
She says approved citizens have until Sunday, 9 August, to change their methods of payment.
