SA’s Covid-19 recovery rate nearing 94%

Statistics released
by Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize on Thursday evening, show that the
country's Covid-19 recovery rate has increased to 93.6%.
This comes as more provinces gear up to roll out their vaccination programmes.
The number of people who have recovered from the deadly virus now stands at 1 403 214, while 1 498 766 have been infected since last year.
A further 230 deaths have been reported - with Limpopo confirming the most fatalities at 122.

KwaZulu-Natal has recorded 27 deaths, the Eastern Cape 24 and Gauteng 21.
The Western Cape has reported 19 fatalities, Mpumalanga 10 and the Free State 7.
The number of Covid-19 related deaths now stands at 48 708.
