SA’s COVID-19 recovery rate back at 90% again

The recovery rate of
COVID-19 cases in South Africa has reached 90% again, after dropped during the
country’s battle against the second wave.
South Africa has recorded 2 649 new Covid-19 cases in the 24-hour period leading up to Tuesday evening.
It’s the lowest number of new infections since the country started battling the second wave in December.
However, the latest statement by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize shows another high number of new Covid-19 related deaths.

"Regrettably, 547 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 68, Free State 30 , Gauteng 91, Kwa-Zulu Natal 143, Northern Cape 3, Western Cape 69, Limpopo 134 and Mpumalanga 9 which brings the total to 44 946 deaths.
“We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients," adds Mkhize.
