South Africa has recorded 2 649 new Covid-19 cases in the 24-hour period leading up to Tuesday evening.

It’s the lowest number of new infections since the country started battling the second wave in December.

However, the latest statement by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize shows another high number of new Covid-19 related deaths.
