SA's COVID-19 infections continue to drop

The daily number of new coronavirus cases continues to decline.

South Africa's recorded 772 infections in the last 24 hours, which takes the number of cases identified to date - to over 651 000.
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says another 142 people have lost their lives - 16 of them in KZN - after contracting coronavirus.
Our COVID-19 death toll's risen to 15 641.
More than 583 000 people have beat the virus, which translates to a recovery rate of 89.5 percent.

Mkhize's given a breakdown of the number of active cases in each province.
Over 7 000 people in KwaZulu-Natal are currently fighting coronavirus.
Gauteng has the highest number of active cases at almost 20 000, followed by the Free State with nearly 13 000.
Meanwhile, a little over 3.9 million tests have been conducted in the country, so far.
