SARS records drop in revenue collections
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The South African Revenue Service (SARS) says revenue collections have come down.

The taxman recorded a decline of 7.8% for the 2020/2021 financial year.
It's published the information in its annual tax statistics bulletin.
According to Treasury and the Revenue Service, R1.25 billion was received on tax returns.
It's a drop from the previous year's R1.35 billion.
They have attributed the decrease to the Covid-19 pandemic, subsequent lockdown restrictions and our struggling economy which contracted by 7% in 2020.
