Sapu: Cop killings should be declared act of treason
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Policing union Sapu is
stepping up the pressure on government to have cop murders declared acts of
treason.
"It's not only KZN, the country as a whole we think that the government must do more to ensure that when a police officer is killed the country comes to a standstill so that criminals must know that you touch the police officers, you touching the government," says the policing union's Tumelo Mogodiseng.
The union's been reacting to the attack on KZN warrant officer Nkosinathi Ntinga who was kidnapped from his home and killed in KwaMbonambi on Tuesday.
Detectives are searching for two armed intruders.
Two weeks ago, eThekwini metro cop. Errol Ogle, was shot and killed by suspected truck jackers near the M7/Hans Dettman interchange.

Mogodiseng says police killings became a crisis a long time ago.
"In other countries when you kill a police officer, the president will even go and talk to the media. But here it's sad we don't see that from our politicians to make sure police officers get the support of the highest level."
