SANTACO: Hit and run incidents are barbaric
Updated | By Andrew Robertson
The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) says drivers who
flee a hit-and-run incidents - must face the full might of the law.

This comes after a 10-year-old was fatally struck by a taxi on Friday outside a Tongaat school.
Paramedics say the taxi driver fled the scene.
SANTACO's Sfiso Shangase says they are pleading with drivers not to run away if they are involved in a crash.
“It is better to wait so you can take care of the person that is involved in the incident. From there the law will take its course,” Shangase said.
“At the end of the day, what is ubuntu and your conscience saying about the accident that you have caused. It is pity that in the other one, somebody passed on. How does the person feel on the other side? It is barbaric and you need to own up,” Shangase added.
