SANEF, commissioner to meet over Durban central protest
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The SA National Editors' Forum says it's meeting with the national police commissioner, to discuss the mistreatment of journalists during yesterday's protests in central Durban.

The demonstrations took a turn for the worst and seven protestors were nabbed on charges of public violence - two journalists were also taken in by police.
SANEF's Mary Papayya says they've reached out to the news editor of journalist, Sihle Mavuso who said he was shocked and traumatised.
She says police need to understand the role of the media.
"The prerogative on hand has to be to educate officers - at a crime scene or otherwise - on the role of the media."
