SANDF member arrested after two killed in Pongola

KwaZulu-Natal police have arrested a South African National Defence Force (SANDF) member who allegedly shot and killed two people in Pongola, in northern KZN.
It's understood the off-duty soldier got into an altercation with three men at his girlfriend's home in Golela on Friday.

SANDF's operations communications officer, Captain Jaco Theunissen says the member is based in the Pongola area
"He was in a rest period at that stage and apparently went to his girlfriend where he was allegedly accosted by three men, and then he fired two shots and two of the civilian members were fatally injured."
Theunissen says police are investigating.
