SANBS's big push for youth to donate blood
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is appealing to the youth to come forward and donate more blood.

The calls comes ahead of Monday's launch of the Be The One campaign that'll see SANBS partner with healthcare company, Abbott.
The company has partnered with Christiano Ronaldo in an effort to respond to the global decline in the number of new and young blood donors.
Last month, SANBS lamented the ongoing Fees Must Fall protests saying it has had a negative impact on blood donations.
SANBS spokesperson, Sfiso Khoza says they'll be encouraging the youth to see the significance of donating blood.
"We are just trying to make it a lifestyle thing that when people go to donate blood they need to bring along their friends, family members or partners. Every second somebody, somewhere, needs blood and you can be that perfect match. By donating one unit of blood you can save up to three lives," he said.
