Salt Rock licensing office shut
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Motorists who live in KwaDukuza will have to find alternatives for licensing services following the closure of the Salt Rock office.
It's been shut due to its dilapidated state.
Municipal spokesperson Sipho Mkhize says authorities are trying to find new offices.
"It was closed after the Department of Transport cited issues around the conduciveness of the building, however at the moment, we are trying to renovate a new office at Nokukhanya Luthuli House that will provide such services.
"Officials for the DOT can then come in and make assessments and hopefully give us an approval to shift the services from the Salt Rock office and move it to Nokukhanya Luthuli House."
The closure comes as there are significant backlogs at licensing centres in the country.
