'Safety' one of main reasons for new Home Affairs office in Pavilion

KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube says safety was
one of the main reasons behind the opening of a new Home Affairs office inside
the Pavilion Shopping Centre.

"Imagine for younger kids, sometimes they'll have to be taken to central town, Pinetown, and we've heard a number of people being robbed or hijacked. So really for us, it is bringing back the dignity of our people."

Motsoaledi in officially launching the new branch in Westville on Monday

The office, which will strictly work on an appointment basis, will assist those applying for passports and identity documents
Officials say it's already processed 278 IDs and 141 passports since opening.
"There's parking for people and it's accessible, even for the disabled, and pregnant woman and safer for our children," said the premier.
