Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga yesterday released a preliminary report, admitting government had failed to maintain control of the hiring process.

KZN is among those provinces where the alleged wrongdoings occurred.

Sadtu's provincial secretary, Nomarashiya Caluza has criticised Motshekga for releasing the report to the media instead of engaging teacher unions first.

However, she says Sadtu in KZN is looking forward to receiving the final report and acting accordingly.

"We are still maintaining our stance that Sadtu doesn't sell posts. Sadtu doesn't own posts and we want to urge those who may be involved to just face the law because Sadtu wants to disassociate itself from any activity that seems to suggests that there is selling of posts," she said.
