SADTU to discuss violence in KZN principals seminar
Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya
Recent incidents have disrupted teaching at some schools across the province.
The union expects over 300 principals to attend the seminar, with violence being among the top discussion points.
SADTU's Nomarashiya Caluza says school management structures must be equipped with how to deal with the issue.
She says an invitation has also been sent to the KZN Education Department.
Caluza says violence puts the lives of pupils and teachers at risk.
"This time around we're focusing on violence because we believe that if this issue of violence is not attended to, if our principals are not capacitated on how to deal with violence in schools, the vision that we have of a learned nation will not be achieved or realised," she said.
