Sadtu committed to fighting corruption

Teacher's union Sadtu has reaffirmed its commitment to fighting corruption and encouraging transparency.
The union briefed the media in Durban yesterday on its position regarding a leaked report into the jobs for cash scandal.
Sadtu says 81 cases were probed across the country with only 38 requiring further investigation. Of the 38 cases, 22 implicate Sadtu members.
The union's Nomarashiya Caluza says two KZN cases were recommended to undergo further investigation.

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga indicated in February that KZN is among the biggest culprits when it comes to selling teacher posts.
Caluza says Sadtu has not been given the opportunity to respond to the contents of the interim report leaked last year.
"If you are alleging that Sadtu did 1, 2, 3 - can we be given evidence so that when you issue out the final report we are all aware, we are all satisfied that indeed what you are writing about is something that is there," she said.
