SADTU calls for investigation in matric camps

Teachers union, Sadtu in KwaZulu Natal wants an audit of special camps for matric classes.
KZN Education last week ordered the shutdown of one in the Harry Gwala District after it emerged that pupils had been studying in appalling conditions.
A photo showed pupils, without masks, crammed into a tent. The union wants answers from the group that ran the camp, Breama Centre.

Sadtu's Nomarashiya Caluza says The situation shows if there was anyone with the virus that centre, it would be the ground for the spread of the virus.
"It has been happening in the department where wrong things have been done but with no consequences. This is we, as the union says we would like to see the department investigate this," she added.
