SADTU not happy with KZN Education

SADTU says it's disappointed by KZN Education's response after thousands of teachers from across the province marched in Durban last month to highlight various issues.

The teachers called on the department to release funds meant for school resources, fill vacant posts in both primary and secondary schools among numerous issues. 


In its official response, KZN Education mentioned financial constraints and fiscal challenges as some of its major reasons its unable to fulfill its role.

Speaking at a briefing at SADTU House in Durban on Thursday, Provincial Secretary Nomarashiya Caliza the departments needs to review its mechanisms.


"The MEC and HOD,  if there is anything that we can say that we can say about this memorandum  is that there is confirmation of the challenges and secondly they give exploitations why they continue to do contrary to the provision of law in education."
