SACP slams Cosatu critics
Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya
Nzimande had been speaking at the SACP's 94th anniversary rally in the Eastern Cape yesterday.
Nzimande says they are duty-bound to defend the trade union federation when it is under attack.
"They say Cosatu is going to die because it's being led by a male nurse. That's sexist to begin with and it's an insult to thousands of nurses in our country who are the ones who are looking after our own health when we are not well," he said.
Cosatu's Sdumo Dlamini sounded a warning for the ANC.
"Let us change certain habits as the ANC. Let us not chase members of the ANC away from the ANC through our own conduct," he said.
