Nxumalo had been speaking at the funeral of SACP member Nontsikelelo Blose yesterday.

She was gunned down last Sunday in full view of her community. While the ANC's Xolani Ngcobo - suspected to be linked to Blose's death - was killed a few hours after Blose was murdered.

Nxumalo said the unrest is a result of the ANC not listening to communities.

He says he was shocked when he heard that February's conference results were being rejected.

Meanwhile, the SACP's Thulas Nxesi slammed the ANC for infighting, saying the party is its own enemy.

"If the ANC claims to be the leader of the movement they must lead us to deal with the killing. They must lead the alliance. But first things first, stop being denialists and confront the problems - be honest, open and frank and address the internal divisions," he said.

The ANC last week condemned the violence and expressed its commitment to peace and stability in the area.
