SACP believes handling of Janusz Walus' matter to set precedent
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka

Yesterday the High Court in Pretoria dismissed with costs Walus' application to be released on parole pending an appeals process against his release.
Justice Minister Michael Masutha lodged a petition with the Supreme Court of Appeal to challenge an earlier High Court decision to grant the Polish immigrant parole.
SACP spokesperson Alex Mashilo says they want Walus to remain behind bars until he "repents, shows remorse and rehabilitation."
"Depending on what the Supreme Court of Appeal will say, we will study that judgement and make a determination whether or not we must proceed to the Constitutional Court and should that need arise we will definitely proceed to the Constitutional Court," he said.
