SAA chair Dudu Myeni axed
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Chairperson of South African Airways Dudu Myeni is being replaced after changes to the SAA board were approved by Cabinet.
Businessman founder of Nkunzi Investment Holdings, Johannes Magwaza, is widely reported to be her replacement.
According to the City Press newspaper, Myeni’s removal comes after mounting pressure from the embattled carrier's lenders.
She's been named as the person at the centre of SAA's financial instability. Government's remaining mum on the reported six changes at the airline saying information about Cabinet decisions will be announced later this morning.

The DA's Alf Lees says the party welcomes Myeni's removal. Lees says it's been a long time coming.
"We certainly welcome the removal of Miss Myeni as the board chair. The question remains about how SAA can be saved. The restructuring of the board will not save SAA. SAA is too far down the road and is bankrupt. They have to find R10-billion for this current financial year for the airline just to be able to fund the losses it's making every month," he says.
