SA Tourism to probe Tottenham Hotspur deal leak
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
SA Tourism says there'll be a forensic investigation into the leaking of the sponsorship agreement it had been putting together with Tottenham Hotspur.

In a statement on Wednesday, the agency says the details were leaked while the planned R1 billion deal was at a premature stage.
The Daily Maverick broke the story last week, prompting SA Tourism to call a press conference around the deal.
It says at the time, it still needed to consult further with the tourism minister and her department.

The probe will also looking into SA Tourism's CFO Johan van der Walt's links to an agency said to be activating the deal.
Van der Walt is said to have told the Daily Maverick he's done consulting work for WWP Group from time to time.
But the publication says emails going back to 2019 appear to show he worked for the company at that time as Group Financial Director.
