Team members returned to the country on Sunday after stating their case at the UN's top court in the Hague last week.

South Africa has accused Israel of genocidal acts against the Palestinian people and asked the court to order a halt in military action in Gaza.

Israel, which has denied the accusations, has been bombarding the territory in retaliation for Hamas' deadly attack in Israel since October.

Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi says the world's perception of the Israel-Palestine conflict has significantly changed as a result of the case.

"This is an episode in a long struggle. It is about 75 years of education, so that struggle continues. It does not end."

"This week marks an important episode, but it did not mark the culmination. It marked a very crucial turning point. The overall struggle will continue beyond this, but we have been very humbled that we have been able to contribute to an otherwise long and courageous struggle of the Palestinian people."
