SA reports 600 new Covid-19 infections

South Africa’s Covid-19 positivity rate stands at 2.2% following the release of the latest report by the NICD.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) reported 619 new infections during the latest reporting period.
A total of 25 people have succumbed to Covid-19 related illnesses.
The majority of new cases on Saturday did not come from KwaZulu-Natal, but from the Western Cape.

The province reported 129 new cases.
It was followed by KZN at 116, while Gauteng identified 93 new cases.
A total of 25 585 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.
