SA reports 58 new Covid-19 related deaths

As South Africans prepare for the Easter long weekend, a total of 58 new COVID-19 related deaths have been reported with Kwa Zulu-Natal confirming 23 new fatalities, the most across the provinces.
The latest statistics were released by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize on Wednesday evening and shows the country’s coronavirus death toll now stands at 52 846.
"Eastern Cape 0, Free State 1, Gauteng 23, KwaZulu-Natal 23, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 2 and Western Cape 9," reads the report.

Phase one of the country's vaccine programme is still ongoing.
Mkhize says the number of health care workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol is 263 878.
As of Wednesday evening, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa is 1 548 157.
South Africa's recovery rate remains at 95%.
