SA records over 1 000 new Covid-19 cases

South Africa recorded 1 149 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours reporting cycle.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) says Wednesday’s increase represents a 3.2% positivity rate.
A further 59 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing the total fatalities to 87 981.
Western Cape is leading with 258 new infections, followed by KwaZulu-Natal with 208 new cases reported on Wednesday evening.
Limpopo is the lowest with 13 new cases.
There has been an increase of 103 hospital admissions in the past 24 hours.
There are 5 874 people currently admitted in both private and public facilities.
This, while 212 790 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Wednesday.
