SA records 19 018 new COVID-19 cases

More than 19 000 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the country in the last 24 hours.

In a statement, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases confirmed the increase represents a 22.8% positivity rate. 20 people have reportedly died from the respiratory disease.
This brings the total figure of fatalities to just over 90 000 .
2 506 of the cases were found in KZN.
507 people were also admitted into both public and private hospitals in the last 24 hours.
