Spokesperson Brian Dube says they are aware of the matter and are working with the relevant law enforcement agencies in their probe.

State Security says officials will work with US authorities as they conduct their work.

The US Embassy said yesterday that its Diplomatic Mission to South Africa had received information that extremists could be targeting its interests in the country.

These could possibly include US Government facilities and others identifiable with US business interests.

No Information was given as to where or when an attack could take place.

Dube says government will continue to ensure the safety of all citizens and residents.

He says the ministry resolves to work with members of the international community to ensure the country is a safe destination for anyone who wants to travel here.
