SA economy 'can recover'
Updated | By Zongile Mthimkhulu
Brand South Africa feels the country's economy is well positioned to recover from its current challenges.
This despite the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry saying yesterday that business confidence has dropped to its lowest level since 1993.
Brand South Africa's Manusha Pillai says while this is a realistic statement, it is not entirely reflective of the country's advances in economic matters.
"World Economic Programme last week said that we're the 12th strongest country in terms of efficient financial markets in the world. That's a very good ranking.
"The Mo Ibrahimin Index of African Governance found that South Africa is number two in the continent in terms of its business environment and number one in terms of its public management," she said.
