RT news channel removed from DStv

MultiChoice says the Russian state-funded TV channel Russia Today won't be aired on its platform DSTV until further notice.

It's pointed to sanctions imposed on Moscow by the EU following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The entertainment company's said in a statement that, in turn, the global distributor of the channel has stopped providing a broadcast feed to suppliers, including MultiChoice.

"Sanctions imposed on Russia by the European Union has led to the global distributor of the channel ceasing to provide the broadcast feed to all suppliers," MultiChoice said.
