Robbers target MTN store at Westville Mall
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The Westville Mall says it's working with investigators after armed robbers hit one of its shops on Tuesday.
Management at the shopping centre has confirmed that two gunmen targeted the MTN store and held up the staff in the afternoon.
Security teams were immediately alerted and fired warning shots before ushering patrons to safety.
Management says the gunmen however, managed to escape in a vehicle, apparently fitted with cloned number plates.

No one was hurt.
Locals, who were at the mall during that time, have been sharing details about their experiences on social media, saying that there was a heavy police presence in and around the centre.
Some shops closed for a short while.
In a statement issued last night, management says the safety of its tenants, staff and shoppers is a key priority.
