KwaZulu-Natal police are searching for two men who opened fire on a bakkie killing Richmond taxi boss, Zenzinkosi Ngubane and his 99-year-old mother, Bakholise Ngubane.
Officers, who responded to reports of a double murder, found their Toyota Hilux parked in the middle of the Kwazikhumulele Bridge on Tuesday morning.
49-year-old Ngubane's younger sister, who was also shot, was taken to hospital for treatment.
SAPS spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says they have not ruled out the possibility that the attack could be linked to violence in the taxi industry.
"At this stage, the motive for their attack is not clear but we suspect that this is taxi related. We are also appealing to anyone who might have information abut the whereabouts of these suspects or who witnessed the incident to come forward and assist the police in their investigation," he said.
