Richards Bay councillor shot dead while delivering sermon

Detectives are working to find the killer of Richards Bay councillor John Myaka.
The African Christian Democratic Party councillor was shot and killed while delivering a sermon at his home in Nseleni on Tuesday night.
Police in Empangeni have launched a manhunt for the two gunmen behind the attack.
The murder has left the local community reeling, with uMhlathuze Mayor Xolani Ngwezi describing Myaka as a respected municipality member and his church.

Ngwezi says the municipality will work closely with law enforcement to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book.
"We are saddened by the way councillor Myaka was killed. I will remember councillor Myaka as a principled, loyal and dedicated servant of the people.
"I plead with God, to give the family of councillor, Myaka complete comfort. May his soul continue to rest in peace."
