Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Restaurant
Association of South Africa says it will be embarking on a national road show
to gauge first-hand challenges faced by the sector.
The restaurant and related hospitality sectors have been under ongoing strain since the height of the Covid pandemic and now having to contend with issues like load shedding.
The association says although the pandemic is over, various struggles still persist with many establishments fighting to keep their doors open.
"As we moved through Covid there were so many other challenges that hit the restaurant industry," says Rasa's Wendy Alberts.

"We accumulated a lot of debt as we weaved our way out of Covid. We were hit by high-interest rates and an accumulation of continuous interest rate hikes, load shedding has had a massive impact, on the cost of fuel and we definitely need to look in a way to navigate it."
She says the various dates and legs of the roadshow can be found on their website.
