Residents urged to use electricity wisely as Winter sets in
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
eThekwini Municipality is asking residents to use electricity wisely as we get into winter.

The plea also comes as KwaZulu-Natal is experiencing cold and wet weather this weekend.
Downpours are predicted for most parts of KwaZulu-Natal over the next two days - while the western parts of the province can expect some snowfall.
eThekwini spokesperson, Tozi Mthethwa says with winter upon us the demand for electricity will start increasing.
"It is very important to conserve the little energy that we have. Simple tips such as switching off lights in rooms that you are not using at night.
"Also, in terms of other safety tips - for those who use candles for lighting purposes make sure before getting into bed - you put out that candle," she said.
