Residents stranded after Joburg fire
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Residents of an informal settlement area in Johannesburg are picking up the pieces after their homes were destroyed in a fire.

A fire that swept through Msawawa informal settlement, north of the city destroyed about 200 homes yesterday.
Twenty-seven matriculants have been left without study material while residents have scouted the area to find any belongings spared from the fire.
The Department of Basic Education says they will assist pupils with learning material - they will also be given the chance to write supplementary exams if unable to complete the finals.
