Reshuffle places more strain on tripartite alliance: SACP
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The SACP says President Jacob Zuma's Cabinet reshuffle that saw Blade Nzimande being sacked is a declaration of war by Zuma on the Communist Party.
Nzimande, who is the General Secretary of the SACP, has been replaced by Hlengiwe Mkhize as Higher Education Minister.
SACP First Deputy General Secretary, Solly Mapaila says the decision has nothing to do with strengthening cabinet.
"He has retained deadwood in that Cabinet. People are laced with corruption, and scandals. He is not dealing with them. Society in general has been raising these matters of under-performance," he says.

Mapaila says Zuma had one target in the latest reshuffle.
"There was no reshuffle. The intention was to remove comrade Blade. That is what he has essentially done. It's an attack on the SACP. We will effectively respond to him as the SACP," he says.
